About
As Associate Traffic Engineer for the City of Culver City, I handle the public right-of-way across more than 100 signalized and 300 unsignalized intersections — signals, CCTV, signing and striping, bike and bus projects, curb ramps and sidewalk infrastructure — along with the power, potable water, stormwater and sewer beneath it. I built out the City's 50-mile fiber optic backbone and coordinated the smart-city rollout that runs on it.
I write policy as well: curb management, valet, automated enforcement, and the temporary traffic control plans that govern work zones. I designed the traffic control policy for events over 2,000 attendees, which is coordinated directly with law enforcement and emergency services. Projects run through my desk start to finish — community engagement, design ideation and grant funding through construction, user feedback and budget reconciliation.
Before Culver City I designed streets, driveways, gutters and curb ramps at Kimley-Horn, including four Metrolink stations under the SCORE program ahead of the 2028 Olympics, where the work was as much coordination as design — LADOT, LA Metro, Metrolink and the CPUC, each with requirements that competed. At the City of Santa Monica I supported bike and mobility projects and mapped street assets in the field for long-range planning.
Earlier, at Holder Construction, I led the electrical scope on a 500,000-square-foot LEED-certified data center — substation, critical and redundant power, campus lighting, security and commissioning — across more than $100 million in contracts. I started in manufacturing engineering at Briggs & Stratton, building a production line for big-block engines.
I studied mechanical engineering at Auburn and transportation at UCLA, where I researched regulatory data systems for automated driving in Dr. Jiaqi Ma's Mobility Lab. Inside a public agency the process is rarely the problem — the information about it is stranded in a spreadsheet or a PDF agenda. The software here closes that gap.
